Job summary

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
  • 6 months experience in a health care related field or active enrollment in a nursing program.
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
  • Non-violent crisis intervention (CPI) within 90 days required.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as resource person to patients, families, nursing staff, and support services in the unit.
  • Receives and directs phone calls and serves as the receptionist for the department.
  • Uses computer system to locate orders, retrieve patient information, call STAT and cancel orders, and print census.
  • Operates order communication system and files reports in patient charts.
  • Communicates and assist with transferring and discharging patients.
  • Orders supplies and services for the unit.
