Job summary

Qualifications

• 1 year customer service experience or related certification.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Advanced clerical and computer skills.
• Ability to work in a high-stress ED environment.

Responsibilities

• Register patients presenting to the ED accurately.
• Validate patient identity and collect ED-specific information.
• Coordinate with ED nurses to ensure timely triage.
• Verify insurance coverage and collect patient payments.
• Communicate professionally with patients, families, physicians and nurses.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA/EMTALA rules.
• Document encounters in account notes for cross-functional communication.
• Respond to disaster activation on-site when needed.
