Orange County Public Schools seeks a bilingual language support assistant to assist teachers, students, and families. The role includes interpreting and translating data and information, supporting English learners, and communicating with parents to ensure understanding of school communications.

Candidates that have taken the Para Assessment with a passing score, or have an Associate’s degree or 60 completed semester credits, may be eligible for a higher hourly rate in a certified position, evidence must be provided. High school diploma or GED; with demonstrated written and oral linguistic skills in English and in a minimum of one (1) target language (Spanish, French, Creole, etc.); with ability to fulfill the dexterity and physical requirements of the work, and effectively attend to the needs of school age children; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Additional HRS training preferred.
Requires the ability to arrange, compare, count, differentiate, measure and/or sort data and/or information. Includes judging whether readily observable functional, structural or compositional characteristics are similar to or divergent from prescribed standards, procedures or routines.
Requires the ability to provide guidance, assistance, and/or interpretation to others on how to apply procedures and standards to specific situations.
