Job summary

Clear Destination Inc. is seeking a qualified supervisor to oversee the Zoo's aquatics and Texas native species within the Ectotherms Department.

The role leads complex work, supervises staff, and maintains animal enclosures, life support systems, and building operations to ensure high standards of welfare and safety. Responsibilities include coordinating weekly schedules, assisting veterinary staff, implementing quarantine protocols, and mentoring staff in husbandry.

Qualifications

• Must have 3 years of increasingly responsible zoo keeping experience; minimum of 1-year supervisory experience preferred
• High School diploma or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree in wildlife-related field preferred

Responsibilities

• Oversee facilities, animals, staff, and conservation initiatives while providing optimal animal care and visitor experiences
• Coordinate with supervisors to produce weekly staff schedules and ensure adequate staffing and safety
• Train and mentor staff in husbandry skills and conduct tours/interviews as requested
• Ensure safety, compliance with SOPs, and accurate record-keeping across the department
