Job summary

TheraPeds Partners is seeking an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year in Hot Springs, South Dakota. This full-time, on-site role offers guaranteed hours, planning time, and a supportive network with the school district.

You will deliver individualized instruction, develop IEP goals, collaborate with families and school teams, manage a caseload, and participate in MDT meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field.
• Valid South Dakota teaching license/certificate with an Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) Birth–Grade 3 endorsement
• Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, eligibility, progress monitoring, and special education procedures
• School-based special education experience preferred
• Strong classroom management and instructional skills
• Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learning needs
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Good organization and time-management skills
• Comfort with educational technology, data collection, and documentation
• Ability to complete required background clearances

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized and small-group special education instruction
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and services
• Adapt curriculum and instruction to meet individual student needs
• Collect data and monitor academic, behavioral, and functional progress
• Complete progress reports, IEP documentation, and required records
• Conduct or participate in educational assessments and eligibility processes
• Serve as a case manager for assigned students
• Participate in IEP, eligibility, and multidisciplinary team meetings
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related-service providers, paraprofessionals, families, and administrators
• Support positive behavior, inclusion, independence, and student participation across school environments
