Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education or related field.
• Virginia Collegiate Professional License or Postgraduate Professional License with appropriate endorsement.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Regularly attends work on time as scheduled.
• Follows policies and procedures and applicable laws.

Responsibilities

• Plans and arranges an environment for children that meets their needs per NAEYC Developmentally Appropriate Practices and Creative Curriculum.
• Plans daily schedule and weekly lesson plans with varied learning opportunities.
• Collects data and documents children’s developmental progress in an online assessment system.
• Conducts formal and informal assessments and reports findings to parents.
• Involves instructional assistant in planning and operations.
• Develops and implements Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and monitors progress toward goals.
