Job summary

Washington State University invites applications for a Teaching Assistant Professor position in the School of Economic Sciences (SES) on the Pullman campus. The successful candidate will teach economics to undergraduates, advise students, and supervise undergraduate research projects.

There is potential involvement in developing a Business Economics minor with strong faculty support. We seek a dynamic instructor with a Ph.D.

Qualifications

  • Earned Ph.D. in Economics or a related discipline by date of hire.
  • Commitment to ensuring access and opportunity in all aspects of the educational experience in alignment with WSU's land‑grant mission.
  • Strong training in economic theory and quantitative methods.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the university level.

Responsibilities

  • Teach economics courses to undergraduate students with minimal research expectations.
  • Advise students and mentor undergraduate research projects.
  • Collaborate with faculty across related disciplines and participate in committees and instructional activities.
  • Contribute to development of a Business Economics minor and engage with the SES on the Pullman campus.
