Job summary

AlixPartners in New York or Washington, DC seeks an Economics Consultant to manage large data sets, apply economic theory to real-world issues, and develop projections for client engagements. You will draft reports, prepare presentations, and travel domestically and internationally as required, in a hybrid work environment.

Strong quantitative background and programming skills in Stata, R, Python, SAS, Excel, Bloomberg Terminal, and FactSet are essential to deliver actionable recommendations and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, finance, mathematics or related field preferred.
• At least 1 year of professional work experience in economics consulting or financial services preferred.
• Experience and/or interest in financial markets, risk management and trading.
• Proficiency in programming languages and financial analysis software (Stata, R, Python, SAS) and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage large and complex data sets and perform complex investigative data work.
• Apply rigorous economic theory to real-world issues and formulate hypotheses.
• Prepare documents and materials for expert reports and deliverables.
• Review and summarize materials in litigation matters and financial statements.
• Draft written reports and prepare presentation materials.
• Develop and assess business projections and communicate with clients.
