Job summary

Cleveland State Community College is accepting applications for an Adjunct Faculty Pool in Economics. Instructors provide quality instruction and maintain a positive learning environment across multiple locations and online formats.

Qualifications include a Master’s degree or higher in a qualifying field (or higher with 18 graduate hours); a bachelor’s degree with two or more of specified professional credentials may be considered.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher from an accredited institution in a qualifying field or Master's degree or higher from an accredited institution with 18 graduate semester hours in any combination of the qualifying fields strongly preferred.
• For limited number of non-transfer courses, a Bachelor's degree in a qualifying field with two or more of the following may be considered: documentation of professional certification (national, regional or state), documentation of professional employment, documentation of teaching excellence, documentation of research and publication, documentation of relevant additional coursework beyond Bachelor's degree equivalent to 18 graduate semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEU's, military, vendor training, etc.

Responsibilities

• Planning and teaching classes as assigned and as outlined in the course descriptions and syllabi and departmental guidelines.
• Beginning and ending all classes as scheduled and covering all relevant learning outcomes for each course.
• Maintaining academic standards and classroom behavior to ensure an environment conducive to learning, communicating with students weekly, and answering student emails in a timely manner.
• Evaluating students using a variety of methods and informing each student of scores received on each assessment in a timely manner.
• Using Cleveland State email for administrative purposes and responding to student questions via Cleveland State email in a timely manner.
• Meeting deadlines for all administrative requests such as submitting personnel paperwork, acknowledging contracts, academic activity and assessment reports, and final grades.
• Submitting requests through the department chair, program coordinator/director, or lead teacher for equipment, supplies, textbooks, and other instructional aids.
