Job summary

Kroger is seeking a Financial Incentives Manager to oversee procurement and utilization of incentives and credits across the enterprise in the United States. The role focuses on evaluating and negotiating incentive packages to reduce capital costs and real estate taxes, and monetizing future benefits through compliance management.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in accounting, finance, real estate or business administration.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of incentive programs across jurisdictions.
  • Ability to calculate estimated incentive values.
  • Report writing and communication skills.
  • Prioritization and multitasking ability.
  • Confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects.
  • CPA and/or MBA.
  • Experience with economic development negotiations and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a resource for incentives and credits across jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate with Real Estate, Logistics, Manufacturing, and divisions to identify projects.
  • Research federal, state and local incentive opportunities (tax sharing, abatements, TIF, grants).
  • Prepare financial analyses and project value propositions.
  • Support presentations and attend state/local meetings.
  • Support compliance data collection and reporting processes.
  • Maintain technology database of pursuit projects.
  • Perform initial review of compliance reporting.
  • Travel up to 20%.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
