Job description

Senior WooCommerce Developer | E-Commerce & Integrations

Location: Camp Hill, PA or Downingtown, PA (Philadelphia area)

Work Arrangement: Hybrid — approximately 1–2 days onsite weekly

Compensation: Target base salary of $125,000–$175,000, depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with a growing, private equity‑backed distribution organization seeking a Senior

WooCommerce Developer to lead the continued development and modernization of an established e‑commerce platform.

The business has experienced significant growth through acquisitions and is investing in the technology needed to scale its national e‑commerce operations.

This is a highly visible, hands‑on technical role supporting an established online business that recently transitioned to WooCommerce. The platform has substantial opportunities for improvement, including customer experience, order management, performance, integrations, and new functionality.

We need more than a developer who can write code. We’re looking for someone who can take technical ownership, partner directly with business leadership, establish development priorities, and turn ideas into scalable, production‑ready solutions.

What You'll Do
WooCommerce Development & Optimization
  • Own the ongoing development, enhancement, and performance of a production WooCommerce platform.
  • Build custom plugins, features, and functionality using PHP, WordPress, WooCommerce, and related technologies.
  • Improve the customer purchasing experience, including checkout, order modifications, cancellations, and order management.
  • Troubleshoot performance issues, resolve technical debt, and improve platform stability and scalability.
  • Support future e‑commerce expansion, including additional websites and potential migrations to WooCommerce.
Systems Integration
  • Develop and support integrations between WooCommerce and enterprise business systems using APIs, webhooks, and/or iPaaS platforms.
  • Work alongside integration partners connecting WooCommerce with Epicor Eclipse ERP through Celigo.
  • Improve the flow of product, pricing, inventory, order, and fulfillment data between systems.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual workflows and streamline business processes.
Technical Ownership & Delivery
  • Help establish and reinforce Agile development practices, including sprint planning, backlog prioritization, estimation, and delivery.
  • Work directly with business leaders to evaluate competing requests and translate priorities into actionable technical work.
  • Coordinate with external development and integration partners while remaining actively involved in coding and troubleshooting.
  • Bring strong technical judgment, clear communication, and accountability to a fast‑evolving environment.
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of professional software development experience.
  • 3+ years of hands‑on WordPress and WooCommerce development, including custom development in a production e‑commerce environment.
  • Demonstrated experience developing integrations using REST APIs, webhooks, middleware, or iPaaS solutions.
  • Experience integrating e‑commerce applications with ERP, inventory, order management, or other enterprise systems.
  • Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies, including sprint planning and backlog management.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with business stakeholders, challenge priorities constructively, and drive technical execution.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Celigo integrator.io or comparable iPaaS experience (Boomi, MuleSoft, Workato, Jitterbit, etc.).
  • Experience with Epicor Eclipse or similar ERP platforms.
  • Experience modernizing or scaling complex e‑commerce environments.
  • Experience with B2B e‑commerce, large product catalogs, or distribution businesses.
  • Experience migrating e‑commerce platforms, particularly OpenCart to WooCommerce.
Why This Opportunity?

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a growing e‑commerce platform with significant investment, executive visibility, and a substantial roadmap of improvements.

You’ll work directly with experienced technology leadership and business stakeholders, influence technical direction, and play a meaningful role in transforming an entrepreneurial e‑commerce operation into a scalable technology platform.

This is a hands‑on individual contributor role with meaningful technical leadership and business influence — ideal for someone who enjoys building, solving problems, and owning outcomes.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer‑sponsored visa support. This position requires regular onsite collaboration in Pennsylvania.

In accordance with applicable federal, state, and local pay transparency and fair hiring laws, the target annual base salary range for this position is $125,000–$175,000 with potential bonus incentives.

Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, education, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and work location.

This position may also be eligible for additional forms of compensation including bonus and equity participation, as well as a comprehensive benefits package provided by the hiring employer. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, 401(k) or retirement plan, paid time off, and other employee programs.

We are committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all qualified applicants and employees.

Employment decisions are made without regard to race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, and related medical conditions), gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, ancestry, age, physical or mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, marital status, military or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.

All hiring decisions are made by the hiring employer, which is expected to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and verification requirements. BrainWorks complies with all applicable employment laws and encourages employers to provide reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities throughout the application and employment process.
