Job summary

Amsect seeks an ECMO Specialist currently enrolled in the ECMO Training Program to develop skills for establishing, managing and controlling ECMO support in acutely ill patients across ages. You will troubleshoot devices under supervision and provide ongoing physiologic surveillance in a critical care setting.

The role requires RRT credentials, MA licensure and progression toward NPS within six months, with responsibilities spanning airway management and medication administration per hospital

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
• Minimum of one year of experience as BCH Respiratory Therapist with eligibility for RT II promotion, or one year of external ECMO experience.
• Current Massachusetts license as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Current NBRC credential as an RRT; NPS credential must be obtained within 6 months of entry into the role.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain ECMO skills to proficiently establish, manage and control ECMO technology.
• Troubleshoot ECMO devices and related equipment under supervision.
• Provide ongoing care through surveillance of clinical and physiologic parameters.
• Administer and document blood products and medications per hospital standards.
• Provide airway and ventilator management as part of scope of practice.
