Job summary

CES is seeking dedicated Early Childhood Mental Health Consultants to support educators, children, and families across Western MA. Part-time roles are available in Berkshire, Western Worcester, and Hampshire/Franklin Counties.

Required: Master’s degree in Early Childhood Mental Health, licensed driver, LICSW preferred with early childhood experience and a track record in delivering workshops to adult learners.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Early Childhood Mental Health or related field.
• Licensure: valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for travel.
• Experience with trauma-informed practices and adult learning.
• Hands-on work with families and young children across communities.
• LICSW with relevant early childhood experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide Onsite Consultation: conduct classroom observations and co-create behavioral plans with educators.
• Support Families: conduct confidential home/virtual/community visits to guide behavior strategies.
• Deliver Crisis Intervention: provide immediate support to stabilize classrooms in licensed settings.
• Facilitate Professional Development: design and lead workshops on trauma-informed practices.
• Connect Community Resources: refer for evaluations and build cross-agency networks for families.

You will partner directly with early education programs and families to create supportive environments where every child can thrive. Part-time positions are open in Berkshire County (1), Western Worcester County (1), and Hampshire/Franklin Counties (1). **What You Will Do*** **Provide Onsite Consultation:** Conduct classroom observations, co-create behavioral success plans, and partner directly with educators to meet children’s social-emotional needs using research-based practices.* **Support Families:** Deliver confidential home, virtual, or community-based family visits to guide positive behavior strategies, strengthen stability, and connect parents with vital resources.* **Deliver Crisis Intervention:** Provide immediate, grounded support in licensed early education settings during challenging situations to stabilize classrooms and prevent suspensions or expulsions.* **Facilitate Professional Development:** Design and lead interactive workshops that help early childhood educators integrate trauma-informed practices and new skills into their daily work.* **Connect Community Resources:** Serve as a parenting resource specialist, facilitate referrals for specialized evaluations or mental health care, and build strong cross-agency networks for families.## Qualifications**What We're Looking For**We need compassionate, strengths-based professionals who thrive when collaborating with educators, parents, and community partners. You should bring deep expertise in early childhood development, strong communication skills, and a dedication to helping hard-to-reach or at-risk families access the support they need.* **Degree**: Master’s-level degree in Early Childhood Mental Health, Early Childhood Development, Education, or a closely related field.* **Licensure**: Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for regional travel.* **Expertise**: Strong problem-solving abilities, skilled in strengths-based approaches, child observation, behavioral success planning, and adult learning facilitation.* **Experience (Highly Preferred)**: Hands-on experience working directly with young children and families, conducting family outreach, and navigating community mental health resources.* **Preferred Experience**: Current licensure or certification as an LICSW with early childhood experience, alongside background delivering workshops or training to adult learners.**Terms of Employment*** **Schedule:** Part-time (depending on communities served).
