Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking an Electro-Chemical Machining (ECM) operator to set up and run ECM equipment, ensuring parts meet precise specifications and quality data is tracked. The role requires basic manufacturing experience and attention to safety and process standards. Shifts are 2nd or 3rd, with a pay range of $27.00–$30.50 per hour plus a 10% shift differential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year experience in industrial manufacturing as a machine operator.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate electro-chemical machines to cut metal work pieces to specifications following standard charts and manuals.
  • Dress electrodes according to standard practices and determine if any electrode is unusable.
  • Position and secure work pieces on ECM table using clamps, vices or fixtures.
  • Turn valves to adjust acid flow and start machine, observing operation start.
  • Inspect work pieces visually and with measuring instruments for conformance to specifications.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Set-up and operate electro-chemical machines to cut metal work pieces to specifications following standard charts and manuals and applying knowledge of electro-chemical machining processes and methods.
  • Examine operation sheets of product and plan operation of machine for any ECM operation.
  • Dress electrodes according to standard practices and part requirements and identify any conditions that will render an electrode unusable.
  • Position and secure work pieces on electro-chemical machine table with clamps, vices or holding fixtures.
  • Turn valves to adjust flow of acid through electrodes and on work piece and start machine and observe beginning of operation.
  • Check on machine and electrodes frequently throughout the operation.
  • Inspect work pieces visually and with specified measuring instruments for conformance to specifications and record measured dimensions.
  • Use electronic documenting system to update status of parts as they are moved throughout the plant and record all necessary quality information including accept/reject criteria and detailed information regarding any quality defects.
  • Maintain company production and quality standards and report unusual problems or conditions to manager.

  • Minimum of one-year experience in industrial manufacturing as a machine operator

Eligibility Requirements

Work Schedule:

2nd Shift - Monday - Friday 2:30pm - 10:30pm OR

3rd Shift - Monday - Friday 10:00pm - 6:00am

  • Ability to lift/push/pull at least 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work overtime as required including occasional weekend shifts.

Pay Transparency

The pay range for this position is $27.00/hr to $30.50/hr plus 10% shift differential. This posting is expected to remain open until a suitable candidate is identified.
