Job Summary
Responsible for a variety of technical duties necessary to the acquisition of echocardiographic examinations and maintenance of the normal operation of the adult echocardiography laboratory. Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Accountable for satisfying all job-specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Performs and processes echocardiographic examinations including two-dimensional, three-dimensional, M-mode, Doppler, and special procedures and exercise techniques.
- Performs emergency procedures when necessary; transports equipment and patients.
- Assists with special procedures including transesophageal echocardiography, intraoperative echocardiography, pericardiocentesis, and contrast echocardiography.
- Analyzes and files echocardiographic data utilizing digital computer analysis systems.
- Assists in developing and maintaining internal training programs and in technical instruction of echocardiographic techniques.
- Assists in approved research activities.
- Performs mobile Echo service as directed.
- Interprets and follows policies and guidelines to define procedures and meet goals and deadlines.
Education
Graduate from Specialty Training Program (Required)
Experience
Minimum 2 years relevant experience (Required)
Certification(s) and License(s)
- Cardiovascular Credentialing International Certification required within 6 months of hire – Default Issuing Body
- Basic Life Support Certification – Default Issuing Body
- Certified Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer within 6 months of hire – American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
