Job summary

Riverside Cardiology Specialists in Newport News, Virginia is seeking a Coordinator to manage the daily operations of the department, supervise the team, schedule patients, and uphold safety and quality standards.

You will oversee orientation, provide performance evaluations, and ensure efficient patient flow and productivity. The role requires extensive imaging experience and relevant certifications, with weekday hours from 8am to 5pm.

Qualifications

• Education program graduate in Sonography (Required) or Associates/Bachelors degree in Sonography (Preferred).
• Imaging experience 5–6 years (Required) with 3–4 years leadership experience (Preferred).
• CPR/BLS Certification required at hire and RDCS/RCS certifications or equivalent.
• RDCS- AE or PE certifications preferred for pediatric echocardiography.

Responsibilities

• Supervises technical team members and ancillary staff in the department.
• Oversees orientation and assists with performance evaluations.
• Produces quality images following established protocols.
• Provides clinical documentation per scope of practice.
• Maintains efficiency for patient scheduling, staffing and productivity.

Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.

Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm

Overview

The Coordinator is responsible for the daily operations of the department and supervises the team members assigned to the department, and the scheduling of patients, personnel, and work progress. Promotes a safe work environment, incorporates national patient safety initiatives, oversees team member orientation, and performs annual performance reviews/evaluations. Participates in quality performance improvement activities, in-service education, customer service programs, and maintains complex equipment and inventory in order to optimize quality patient care.

Maintains and utilizes complex equipment and inventory to optimize patient care. Ensures all applicable system, department, regulatory and accrediting standards are followed. Reports variances.

Qualifications

Education Program Graduate, Accredited Sonography Program (Required) or Associates Degree, Accredited Sonography Program (Preferred) or Bachelors Degree, Accredited Sonography Program (Preferred)
