Job summary

Methodist Mansfield Medical Center is seeking an Echo Technologist to perform comprehensive echocardiograms including 2D, M-Mode, Doppler, and transesophageal studies under supervision.

You will work in a high-volume cardiology setting, ensure patient safety, document findings, and collaborate with physicians. Requires ARDMS/CCI credentials, BLS, and hospital experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an associate degree echo program or accredited echo training program.
• ACLS preferred; BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
• RDCS/ARDMS or RCS/CCI certification required.
• Experience with Philips ie33 and EPIQ, TEE probes and Epic preferred.
• Typing and computer skills preferred; 1 year hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assures proper patient identification and safety.
• Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patient.
• Demonstrates understanding of universal precautions.
• Completes forms/records/logs accurately and maintains logs/records for procedures.
• Prepares echocardiographic worksheet for physicians review and interpretation.
• Supports department Quality Assurance process through data collection.
• Demonstrates ability to work independently and with team.
• Is able to complete assignments independently and prioritize STAT and routine orders.
• Manages supplies within the budget.
• Attends mandatory facility and departmental education requirements.

Your Job Requirements

• Graduate from an associate degree echo program and/or an accredited echo training program preferred High School Diploma and/or GED
• Current American Heart Association ACLS preferred
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers from American Heart Association required
• RDCS (ARDMS) or RCS (CCI) required
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with equipment including Philips ie33 and EPIQ, TEE probes (to include the sterilization process), and Epic preferred
• Typing and computer skills preferred
• Work Experience: 1 year hospital experience preferred

• Manages supplies and forms within the budget.
• Participates in required and continuing educations. Attends or completes all mandatory facility and departmental education requirements.
• Responsible for patient preparation to include assessing compliance with NPO status, patient transport, placement of electrodes, placement of blood pressure cuff, presence of IV access if needed, secures the use of EKG monitoring equipment, remains with patient at all times, offers assistance under the director of an RN, maintains patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
