Job summary

Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia, is seeking a qualified Echocardiographer for a part-time role with day shifts (7:00am–3:30pm) and 16 weekly hours. On-call is required. The position offers an hourly range of $32.13–$53 with market-competitive compensation and benefits.

The echocardiography team performs Echo, Stress Echo, TEE and Doppler studies across multiple labs and patient settings, including bedside care. Requires 1 year of experience and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or equivalent required.
• Graduate of accredited echocardiography program per IAC guidelines (required).
• Adult echocardiography registry required within 12 months of hire.
• BLS and ACLS required within 90 days.
• At least 1 year of echocardiography experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform Echo and Stress Echo tests, transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE), and Doppler ultrasound.
• Work in Cardiac Non-Invasive Lab, EP and Cath Lab, OR, ICU and bedside with patients.
• Complete technologist reports in the structured report application.

Sentara Heart Hospital is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as an Echocardiographer.

Position Status:

Part Time, Days, 16 weekly hours

8-hour shifts from 7:00am to 3:30pm. On Call Required.

Norfolk, VA- Heart Hospital connected to Norfolk General Hospital

Hourly Range: $32.13-$53

Overview

Unit has 5 rooms for Echos. Echocardiographer will perform Echo and Stress Echo tests, Transesophageal (TEE) Echocardiogram, and Doppler ultrasound. Echocardiographer will work in Cardiac Non-Invasive Lab, EP and Cath Lab, OR, ICU and willalso work with patients at the bedside.

Performs two-dimensional echocardiograms, Doppler echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms and pharmacological stress echocardiograms to evaluate heart and vessel abnormalities for the evaluation of heart disease and blood flow abnormalities. Completes the technologist report in the structured report application.

Education

• High School Grad or Equivalent (required)
• Graduate of an accredited echocardiography program (or equivalent education) in accordance with IAC Guidelines (required)

Certification/Licensure

• Adult echocardiography registry (RCCS or RCS or RDCS) required within 12 months of hire.
• BLS (Required within 90 days)
• ACLS(Required within 90 days)

Experience

• Echocardiographer experience (1 year minimum required)
