Providence St. Joseph Hospital Eureka is seeking an Echocardiograph Technologist to perform diagnostic ultrasound imaging in the Echo Unit.

This Per Diem role offers eight-hour day shifts and requires certification in cardiac echocardiography with RDCS/CCI and BLS on hire. The successful candidate will work under the Cardiac Cath Lab Manager and contribute to quality control, patient care, and clinical support for colleagues across the team.

Under the direction of the Department Director, supervision of the Cardiac Cath Lab Manager, the Echo Tech performs clinical diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures and related activities according to department standards for all patients served: infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. Serves as a customer service representative to patients, their families, the public, and the medical staff. Participates in quality control and organizational improvement activities. Serves as a clinical/technical resource for less experienced sonographers.

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of a program in cardiac echocardiography approved by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association or completed equivalent training through self-study, on-the-job training, etc.
• National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography upon hire or,
• National Certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International upon hire.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Successful completion of national certification examinations in cardiac echocardiography, color doppler and stress testing conducted by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers upon hire.
• Experience as a hospital-based Sonographer.
