Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health seeks an Echocardiograph Technician (Certified) for the Non-Invasive Cardiac Lab at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center. This hourly day-shift role requires a graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Ultrasound Program with RCS or ARDMS license and BLS certification.

You will perform echocardiograms, stress ECHOs, and TEE studies, assist physicians with workflow, verify orders and patient IDs, maintain equipment, and follow infection control and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Ultrasound Program.
• License: RCS or ARDMS.
• Certification: BLS.

Responsibilities

• Performing high-quality inpatient and outpatient echocardiograms, stress echos, and Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE).
• Assisting physicians directly with stress echo and transesophageal testing workflows while preparing results for final clinical interpretation.
• Verifying physician orders, confirming correct patient identification using two distinct identifiers, and safely instructing patients on the upcoming procedure.
• Leveraging an intimate knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and extensive EKG data to accurately follow technical criteria for preliminary reports.
• Maintaining complex echocardiography equipment in good working order, adjusting for appropriate settings, and reporting any maintenance defects.
• Complying strictly with healthcare infection control protocols and department-wide patient safety initiatives.
