Sea Mar Community Health Centers in Seattle is seeking an Echocardiogram Technologist (Cardiac Sonographer) for a part-time role. The incumbent will obtain high-quality ultrasound images of the heart and related structures to support cardiology interpretation, while adhering to IAC standards for both resting and stress echocardiography.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAAHEP or CMA approved School of Diagnostic Ultrasound or equivalent
• RDCS eligibility or registry within 12 months of hire
• CCVI/RCIS acceptance may be substituted for RDCS with ARDMS registry within 12 months

Responsibilities

• Complete ultrasound exam accurately and timely per IAC standards for resting and stress echocardiography
• Monitor patient safety during the exam
• Perform daily maintenance and quality control on equipment
• Transfer studies to EchoPACs and generate preliminary reports
• Communicate STAT findings to the staff cardiologist and assist in patient discharge

We are recruiting for the following position:Sea Mar is a mandatory COVID-19 and flu vaccine organization**Position Summary**The Echocardiogram Technologist (Cardiac Sonographer) is responsible for obtaining high quality recordings of ultrasound images of the heart and related structures to be interpreted by the Cardiologist. **Key Responsibilities****Job Description*** Complete ultrasound exam accurately and timely, adapting protocol according to degree and type of pathology encountered, while adhering to standards of Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) for Echocardiography for both complete resting echocardiogram and stress (exercise treadmill) echocardiogram.* Observes patient during the exam, monitoring patient’s condition and safety.* Performs quality control (weekly) and cleaning procedures (daily) on all equipment: Performs daily maintenance such as sanitizing the transducers, cables, beds, or other items as needed after each patient.* Works with Sea Mar IT to help performs weekly and monthly maintenance such as filter cleaning, workstation back up and purging or other duties to ensure smooth patient flow.* Alerting the Sea Mar Cardiology clinic manager when supplies are low to reorder (ultrasound gel, wipes for transducers, etc.)Performs clerical activities associated with department operation and patient care:* Transfer studies from the echo machine to the EchoPACs reading station* Copy or upload echo studies to and from EchoPACs.* Provide a preliminary report for the staff cardiologist.* Call the cardiologist to discuss and view any STAT findings (tamponade, aortic dissection, etc.) prior to discharging the patient.* Participates in Quality Assurance activities, continuing education, and assists in training of new Echo Lab personnel and ultrasound students:**Qualifications*** Must be a graduate of a CAAHEP or CMA approved School of Diagnostic Ultrasound or equivalent amount of on the job training as outlined by ICAEL accreditation requirements.* Registered or registry eligible with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers with a specialty Registration of Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographers (RDCS).
