Job summary

South Texas Health System – Clinics seeks an experienced Echo/Ultrasound Technician to operate echocardiography and vascular ultrasound equipment in our clinics. You will perform high-quality imaging and communicate critical findings to interpreting physicians, supporting improved patient outcomes.

The role requires graduation from a Cardiovascular Technology program, active credentials as required by ICAEL, and 1–3 years of vascular/echo experience in healthcare.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Cardiovascular Technology program.
• Professional certification/registry is required. All sonographers must be credentialed as required by ICAEL.
• ARDMS registry and/or if registry eligible must complete registry within 1 year of employment
• CCI registry and/or if registry eligible must complete registry within 1 year of employment
• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in providing Vascular and/or Echo procedures in a healthcare environment is required.

Responsibilities

• Operating specialized ultrasound equipment to create images of the heart (Echocardiography) and vascular system (arteries/veins).
• Preparing patients for exams, explaining procedures, and reviewing medical history.
• Operating ultrasound equipment to perform diagnostic exams, such as carotid artery, peripheral vascular, and echocardiograms of the heart chambers and valves.
• Analyzing images to detect anomalies like blood clots, blockages, or aneurysm, and preparing preliminary reports.
• Schedule book for 8 to 10 patients per day.
