Job summary

InterMed, P.A. is seeking an experienced Echo Technologist to perform cardiac ultrasound exams and ensure high-quality imaging for referrals from primary care, specialty medicine, and cardiology.

The role requires professional communication, adherence to protocols, and ongoing performance improvement. The ideal candidate holds AMA-recognized echocardiography training and RDCS/ARDMS or CCI credentials, with BLS certification and EMR experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized AMA school of Echocardiology or equivalent.
• Current credentials: RDCS or RCS through ARDMS/CCI.

Responsibilities

• Perform cardiac ultrasound exams as indicated.
• Obtain medical history from referring physician and patient.
• Review images with Cardiologists and correlate with outside reports.
• Maintain documentation and sonographer worksheets for all exams.
• Maintain equipment and ensure IAC and other regulatory credentials are up to date.

Job description

Responsible for performing all cardiac ultrasound exams as ordered by Primary Care providers, Specialty Medicine providers and Cardiologists using proper technique and professional, interpersonal skills. Echo Technologists will be expected to follow, uphold, and have input into establishing protocols, standards, and practices. Flexibility in staff and patient scheduling is required. Echo Technologists uphold the mission and values of InterMed and participate in performance improvement activities.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• - Perform cardiac ultrasound exams as indicated.
• - Obtain appropriate medical history from referring physician and patient.
• - Request pertinent outside imaging and reports when indicated for correlation.
• - Complete sonographer worksheets with all exams.
• - Review images with Cardiologists
• - Monitor ultrasound supplies and order as necessary.
• - Maintain preventative maintenance on ultrasound system, keeping detailed records on file.
• - Maintain all credentials regarding IAC, (Intersocietal Accreditation Commission), and other regulatory agencies.
• - Ensure proper documentation of IAC activities including meeting minutes, which must be held once per quarter.
• - Adhere to the ergonomic safety policy and comply with the ergonomic established competencies.
• - Maintains strict confidentiality in alignment with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) guidelines and InterMed policies.
• - Perform other duties to support the mission, vision and values of InterMed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• - Education:
• - Completion of a recognized AMA school of Echocardiology or equivalent.
• - License/Certifications:
• - Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) required.
• - Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 6 weeks of hire.
• - Experience:
• - 0+ years of experience
• - Current experience in all areas of cardiac sonography preferred.
• - Clinical competence in the delivery of care for selected patient populations. Must be familiar with current regulations.
• - Ability to interact well with Medical Staff, patients, patient family members, and colleagues.
• - Demonstrates excellent professional judgement, phone skills and prioritization decision-making skills.
• - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and respond to rapidly changing, sometimes acute patient care needs
• - Proficient in Windows and Microsoft applications, electronic medical record (EMR) experience preferred

The estimated compensation range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors , including skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. Certain positions may be eligible for incentive compensation plans above and beyond base compensation.
