Job summary

Millennium Physician Group is seeking an Echocardiography Technician to perform high-quality cardiac ultrasound exams in an outpatient cardiology setting. You will obtain clear imaging and measurements for physician interpretation while ensuring patient comfort and efficient workflow.

The role requires RDCS with RVT preferred, with travel to alternate office locations as needed. Full-time hours are Monday-Thursday 7:45am-5pm and Friday 7:45am-12pm in Punta Gorda, FL.

Qualifications

• Performs high-quality echocardiograms with measurements and calculations per Medical Director.
• Evaluates abnormal findings and notifies physician promptly.
• Manages clerical duties in echo/vascular dept. including archiving and EMR entries.
• Maintains equipment with preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Willing to travel to alternate office locations to meet department needs.

The Echocardiography Technician is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations in an outpatient cardiology setting. This position provides direct patient care while obtaining accurate and complete echocardiographic images and measurements for physician interpretation. The Echo Technician works closely with cardiologists, clinical staff, and front-office personnel to ensure efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and a positive patient experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs high-quality echocardiograms procedures with associated measurements and calculations as established by the Medical Director


• Evaluates abnormal pathology and notifies physician of any life-threatening or relevant test data and/or condition.


• Reviews procedures with physicians and Medical Director as needed or requested.


• Handles all clerical duties associated with the echo/vascular department including preparation of studies for review, logging, archiving, entering charges into EMR and CD duplication as requested.


• Troubleshoots equipment, arranges with the department manager for service and performs routine maintenance such as cleaning of probes, machine surfaces and filters.


• Must be able to travel to alternate office location in order to meet the needs of the department and patient care.

• Performs examinations in accordance with established standing operation procedures and routines accurately and in a timely manner. Responsible for Imaging, recording and processing images.


• Obtains and documents a complete patient history as it relates to the procedure ordered, obtains informed consent in accordance with departmental policy and procedure.


• Maintains effective communication with patient provides; explanation of procedures within scope of practice.


• Demonstrates knowledge of occurrence reporting (patient case) in Athena. Uses system to report potential patient safety issues.


• Maintains proactive and effective communication with radiologist regarding unusual clinical findings, history, test results and or their implication.


• Ensures physician order for procedure is entered accurately. Consults appropriate resources to clarify unfamiliar or questionable orders.


• Optimize use of supplies, equipment and services, ensuring high level of clinical care at lowest cost. Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety or quality of care.


• Takes responsibility for ensuring orders match diagnosis to ensure proper reimbursement for services.


• Demonstrates a patient first approach to care/Introduces self and role to patient. Acts as a patient advocate in keeping the best interests and care of the patient at the forefront at all times.


• Willingly assists co-workers to achieve goals. Acts as a resource to co-workers as appropriate.


• Actively participates in staff meetings and in-services.


• Assumes personal responsibility for professional development. Actively promotes development of self and others through participation in professional organization, educational opportunities, etc.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

RDCS with RVT preferred. CCI also acceptable. BLS, CPR

Compensation Range

$35.43 to $53.15

The anticipated base salary range represents the Company's good-faith estimate of the compensation it reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, geographic location, internal equity, and business needs.
