Job summary

Methodist Midlothian Medical Center is seeking a PRN Echo Technician to support the non-invasive cardiology echo lab. The role performs 2D, M-Mode, Doppler, transesophageal echo, stress echo and related studies to a high technical standard under supervision.

Requirements include an associate degree or approved echo training, BLS and RDCS/CCI certification. ACLS preferred, experience with Philips iE33 and EPIQ, plus strong communication and computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an associate degree echo program and/or accredited echo training program preferred.
  • High School Diploma and/or GED.
  • ACLS preferred; BLS required for Healthcare Providers.
  • RDCS/CCI (or equivalent) certification required.
  • Experience with echo equipment and processing; computer skills helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Perform echocardiograms (2D, M-Mode, color Doppler, pulse wave Doppler, CW) and transesophageal echo as trained.
  • Prepare patients, ensure ID and safety, and maintain privacy and confidentiality.
  • Operate equipment (Philips iE33/EPIQ), manage probes and sterilization per protocol.
  • Document and bill procedures; maintain logs and QA data.
  • Communicate findings to physicians and support team collaboration.
