Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current Certification in echocardiography.
• Associate degree from an ultrasound program preferred.
• 3-4 years of echocardiography experience preferred.

Aufgaben

• Maintains a system where echocardiograms can be reviewed by the consulting cardiologist during allotted time, ensuring 24/7 coverage with coordination with system administrator and echo staff.
• Performs bench work: measuring and mounting echocardiograms and training new personnel.
• Conducts various procedures: echocardiograms, Holter application/scanning, treadmill testing, and EKGs.
• Maintains and submits QA data and ICAEL requirements; participates in monthly on-call rotations.
• Consults with supervisor; maintains department competencies and reports activity, needs and problems.

MedStar Health is looking for an Echocardiograph Technologist to join our team at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center!

The Echocardiograph Technologist performs 2D and M-mode echocardiograms. Participates in Tran esophageal echocardiograms, as well as stress and contrast echocardiograms. Can also perform exercise testing when needed. Participates in continuing education to ensure professional and personal growth. Ensures that procedures are of the best quality and done quickly; directs finished reports to appropriate destinations; assists with all other testing done in the department.

Primary Duties:

• Maintains a system where echocardiograms being done can be reviewed by the consulting cardiologist during his/her allotted time for rapid interpretation. Coordinates with the System Administrator and fellow echo cardiologists to ensure there is necessary 24/7 personnel coverage.
• Performs bench work, which may include measuring and mounting of echocardiograms, training new personnel to increase skills and knowledge of departmental procedures.
• Performs various departmental procedures to include echocardiograms, Holter application/scanning, treadmill testing and EKG’s.
• Maintains and submits required data for Quality Assurance as well as ICAEL. Assumes other responsibilities and duties that relate to patient care as required. Available for call on a monthly rotational basis.
• Consults with and keeps supervisor informed of activities, needs and problems in assigned areas. Maintain requirements for hospital/departmental competencies.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Current Certification in echocardiography.
• Associate degree from an acceptable ultrasound school preferred.
• 3-4 years' experience as an echocardiographer in a healthcare environment preferred.
