Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking an Echocardiograph Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore. The role requires RDCS certification, strong communication, and up-to-date CPR/ACLS credentials.

You will perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasounds and generate preliminary reports to support physician interpretation. Full-time; Monday–Friday schedule with a $25,000 sign-on bonus for a limited time.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED with completion of a Registered Echocardiology program.
  • 1-2 years of post graduate cardiology experience preferred.
  • RDCS Adult Echocardiography - ARDMS-AE or CCI.
  • CPR and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasounds including M‑mode and 2D and stress echocardiograms.
  • Prepare preliminary diagnostic reports with measurements for physician review.
  • Coordinate patient care and ensure accurate records and archiving of studies.
  • Educate patients and alert physicians to abnormal findings for next steps.

MedStar Cardiology - Outpatient

MedStar Health is looking for an Echocardiograph Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital. The ideal candidate will be a registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer with demonstrated effective communication and problem-solving skills.

As an Echocardiograph Technologist, you will perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasounds on patients toassurehigh-quality care and service to patients.

Primary Duties:
  • Activelyparticipatesin quality assuranceprogramby completing all accrediting body requirements tomaintainlab certification.Ensures equipment and supplies are available by coordinating preventive maintenance programs, scheduling emergency service calls, and ordering necessary supplies tomaintainan efficient patient schedule.
  • Assistsin coordinating patient care with clinical staff by reviewing the patient schedule at the beginning of each day to ensureappropriate supportis available at the appointed times. Maintainslogof patient data and stored images by entering correct patient demographic information and archiving studies to ensure complete andaccuraterecords aremaintained.Sends diagnostic reports or study copies whenrequiredto ensuretimelycommunication of patient data.
  • Performs diagnostic ultrasound studies on patients including M-mode and two-dimensional and stress echocardiograms by following ICAEL guidelines to ensure high-quality diagnostic studies are performed.Prepares preliminary diagnostic reports by compiling relevant measurements and data to provide a summary report for physician review, interpretation, and signature.
  • Provides patient instructions and answers questions relating to scheduled procedurestoproperly educate and orientpatients. Recognizesand alerts physicians to abnormal studies byimmediatelycontacting physicians to discuss andassistwithappropriate nextsteps.
Qualifications:
  • HS Diploma or GED with completion of a Registered Echocardiology program with coursework in Anatomy and Physiology,required
  • Associate's Degree, preferred
  • 1-2 years ofpost graduatecardiology experience, preferred
  • Prior clinical experience and the performance of at least 100 echocardiogram/ doppler examinations with Arrhythmia analysis experience,required
  • RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer)Adult Echocardiography - ARDMS-AEor CCI
  • CPR (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation).
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support).
This position has a hiring range of USD $35.68 - USD $64.71 /Hr.
