Job summary

AdventHealth in Palm Coast, FL is seeking staff to support flexible scheduling for echocardiography and vascular procedures. You will scrub in, monitor, and assist physicians, while maintaining sterile practices and rapid response during codes and emergencies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in echocardiography and/or vascular technology.
• Associate's degree; Bachelor's degree in healthcare preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; RN/RT licenses may apply per role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the room with all equipment and supplies for each procedure.
• Take call on weekends, including on-call emergencies in rotating schedule.
• Transfer images to PACS and update procedure logs.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team and monitor patients during procedures.

Job Description:

Works a flexible schedule as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Ensures the room is prepared with all necessary equipment and supplies for each procedure. Takes call on weekends, rotating included, and performs emergency procedures while meeting on-call requirements. Transfers images to PACS, updates logs, and performs other duties as assigned by the tech manager or director. Collaborates effectively with a multi-disciplinary team. Performs hemodynamic and patient monitoring functions during procedures. Scrubs in and performs clinical procedures independently, obtaining anatomical, pathological, and physiological data for physician interpretation. Manages high-stress situations such as codes, STEMIs, and emergencies with skill and knowledge to scrub and monitor independently. Prepares the room in a timely manner with all anticipated equipment, instruments, and supplies for each procedure. Cleans after cases, including emptying trash, cleaning sterile tables, and transferring patients. Stocks equipment and ensures availability for procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Advanced knowledge of medical technology and terminology

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

• Desire to learn and upgrade clinical skills

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Windows

• Understanding of current JCAHO Standards for the clinical aspect of the department

• Ability to manipulate the Image Intensifier and pan the table independently

• Manual dexterity for sterile manipulation

• Initiative, self-motivation, and a positive service orientation

• Excellent customer service skills

• Openness to constructive criticism and the ability to apply it to improve skills

Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS)

• Registered Nurse (RN) OR Radiologic Technologist - License (RT-LIC) OR State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) OR NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) OR Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) OR Registered Technologist - Cardiovascular Interventional (R.T.(CV)(ARRT)) OR Licensed Paramedic (PARA)

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS)
