Job summary

Carilion Clinic is seeking a Registered Sonographer- Echo for weekend shift in Roanoke, VA. The role involves performing transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms, contrast studies, and participation in clinical trials within CVI.

In addition to imaging, the sonographer will support scheduling, documentation, and patient processing in a high‑volume environment. The ideal candidate has an accredited Sonography program, ARDMS/ARRT certification, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program with ultrasound training.
• Current ARDMS or ARRT Sonography certification in an applicable specialty area required.

Responsibilities

• Perform transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms and contrast studies as ordered.
• Support clinical trials and research, including Dobutamine stress testing for aortic stenosis.
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment adhering to QA standards and safety protocols.
• Document procedures accurately in EMR and imaging systems; assist with scheduling and patient processing.
