Job summary

Jewish Long Beach and the Barbara and Ray Alpert JCC in Long Beach, CA seeks an ECE Teacher responsible for the health, safety and education of young children, families, and staff. Direct programming and collaboration with parents are core priorities.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with children, parents, and staff.
• Ability to maintain a positive, safe, and engaging classroom environment.
• Familiarity with California licensing requirements for child care centers.

Responsibilities

• Direct care and supervision of children.
• Write and implement lesson plans.
• Develop and evaluate programs and curricula with staff and parents.
• Prepare weekly communications to parents via notes and calls.
• Conduct parent conferences and participate in staff meetings.
• Set up and clean the classroom at start and end of day.
• Ensure timely duty schedule performance and classroom safety.
• Engage in parent and family education activities.
