Job description

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

WHY WE ARE HERE
The Connected Warfare division is one of Anduril’s fastest growing, most product rich divisions. Within Connected Warfare, our Menace family of configurable and expeditionary command, control, communications, and computing (C4) solutions are designed to support distributed operations in austere environments. We are looking for a Program Director to support critical programs where Menace products and capabilities are at the core of what we are delivering to the warfighter. These programs span various stages of the contract lifecycle from early R&D to large LRIP/FRP production Programs of Record. As the ECC (Edge Compute and Comms) Program Director, you will be expected to use your technical knowledge in conjunction with your program management skills to lead cross-functional efforts and deliver the best outcome for Anduril and the warfighter. Deploying our Connected Warfare capabilities requires thorough understanding of mission requirements, thoughtful orchestration between Anduril teams and external stakeholders, and meticulous planning in the face of ambiguity. You thrive in the unknown and create order out of the chaos.

In this role you will:

  • Own overall program execution - meeting cost, schedule, and performance targets and exceeding program and warfighter expectations.
  • Acquire an intimate understanding of program requirements and maintain open dialogue with the customer to ensure engineering efforts remain aligned to mission objectives.
  • Develop and implement effective processes, tools, and metrics for program planning, scope management, risk management, and overall program execution.
  • Foster a “Team of Teams” culture amongst Anduril, external customers, and industry partners to align objectives, optimize processes, gather insight, and drive on-time execution.
  • Build an outcome-oriented, high-performance culture within the program team that values development velocity, high-trust collaboration, rigorous execution, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment efforts to ensure seamless integration across engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, test and evaluation, operations, business development, and other Anduril teams.
  • Proactively assess team skills and resource requirements, identifying training needs or recruitment opportunities to strengthen the team’s capabilities.
  • Autonomously execute on broad and/or ambiguous requirements from stakeholders. Demonstrate high ownership on all pieces of work. Become a trusted partner to Anduril’s engineers.
  • Support the drafting of technical proposals, ensuring that potential projects and scaling opportunities with each account are accurately scoped, resourced, and aligned with the organization's capabilities and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Director of Programs and in partnership with the Chief of Engineering, own overall program execution, meeting cost, schedule, and performance targets and exceeding program and warfighter expectations. Monitor and manage program resource allocation, making tradeoffs that enable us to deliver best-in-class solutions to our customers on-time and on-budget.
  • Acquire an intimate understanding of program requirements and maintain open dialogue with the customer to ensure engineering efforts remain aligned to mission objectives.
  • Develop and implement effective processes, tools, and metrics for program planning, scope management, risk management, and overall program execution.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment efforts to ensure seamless integration across engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, test and evaluation, operations, business development, and other Anduril teams.
  • Develop strong, trusting relationships with Anduril’s DoD customers, ensuring we have tight feedback loops that enable us to shape solutions, rapidly iterate, and ultimately field solutions faster.
  • Autonomously execute on broad and/or ambiguous requirements from internal engineering, customers, and third-party partners to own successful delivery of outcomes on multiple programs simultaneously.
  • Develop and implement lightweight processes, tools, and metrics for program planning, scope management, risk management, and customer communication to enable Anduril to move rapidly.
  • Be high ownership on all pieces of work and become a trusted partner and advisor to Anduril’s engineers.
  • Foster a creative, high-performance culture within the team, and proactively assess team skills versus needs, identifying personnel development or recruitment opportunities to strengthen the team’s capabilities.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Programs to develop and refine the strategic roadmap for investments that underpin the success of our programs.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (technical background preferred).
  • Minimum of 8 years of proven program management experience in the defense, national security, or aerospace domains.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex, multi-million-dollar projects and driving their on-time, on-budget completion.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities with the ability to move seamlessly between tactical and the 30,000 ft level.
  • Experience coordinating multiple internal and external teams within a complex engineering or technology-focused organization.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • Strong technical, analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive decisions.
  • Experience with tools like JIRA and Confluence.
