Job summary

Fabric8Labs, based in San Diego, CA, seeks a Printer Build and Repair Technician for its Carlsbad site to repair and upgrade ECAM printers. Onboarding occurs at the San Diego location through early 2027.

The role focuses on electrochemical additive manufacturing technology, requiring hands-on repair, calibration, and collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure product quality and uptime.

Qualifications

• Troubleshooting motors, encoders, cabling, electronics and SW/FW in industrial machines.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, torque tools and mechanical measurement instruments.
• Able to use DVM for continuity checks and testing.
• Ability to follow written instructions, travellers/routers and interpret drawings/wiring diagrams.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

• Perform electro-mechanical repair and upgrades of ECAM printer systems and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, fluid, pneumatic and motion control system issues.
• Diagnose failures, identify root causes and propose improvements.
• Conduct mechanical alignment, calibration and fit checks to ensure system integrity.
• Document repair, upgrade and equipment issues.
• Work closely with engineering and manufacturing.
• Follow safety procedures including LOTO, chemical handling and PPE requirements.
• Keep repair area clean and organized.
