Job summary

Catawba County Schools seeks an EC Teacher Assistant/Bus Driver to support students with disabilities under supervision of the EC teacher and principal. The role includes instructional assistance, data collection, and daily living support in a special education setting.

The position requires a high school diploma, coursework, and willingness to obtain a DHHS qualification letter; prior experience with children is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma.
• At least 48 college credit hours or equivalent.
• Two years of experience working with children preferred.
• Must obtain a DHHS qualification letter.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Gives group instruction as prescribed by the EC teacher.
• Provides individualized instruction.
• Monitors student work and progress.
• Scores papers and distributes/collects instructional materials.
• Assists students with toileting, eating, hygiene and daily living tasks.
• Records student behavior and maintains required paperwork.
