Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Planning the Program – Cooperate in developing annual objectives and plan instructional programs that incorporate these objectives.
- Overseeing the Program – Incorporate learner objectives compatible with subject, grade level, curriculum, and student needs; assess the effectiveness of instructional programs.
- Updating the Program – Maintain an effective program by establishing and maintaining adequate knowledge of subject areas and child growth.
- Managing Daily Instruction – Ensure instruction, materials, and procedures are appropriate; use application and practice to reinforce concepts and encourage family and community involvement.
- Differentiating Instruction – Assess individual student abilities and devise techniques to accommodate differences in learning rate, style, and ability level, including grouping.
- Individualized Instruction – Monitor continuous student achievement, employ varied teaching methods, and provide remediation as needed.
- Supervising – Use professional classroom management techniques to maintain a suitable instructional environment.
- Human Resources – Utilize community resources, student talent, volunteers, and school personnel to enhance the instructional program.
- Human Relations – Show respect for all students, value cultural differences, and maintain communication with parents.
- Non-instructional Duties – Accept responsibility for duties assigned by the principal, superintendent, school board, or other administrators.
- Promoting School Safety – Conduct conduct that promotes a safe, secure, and orderly environment and model appropriate personal conduct.
- Reporting Acts of Violence – Report acts of violence to the principal.
- Reporting of Students Suspended or Expelled – Report students who are suspended or expelled to the principal as required by state policies.
- Evaluation Instrument – Perform in accordance with teacher evaluation standards (Standard I–VI).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Monitor safety and well‑being of students, especially during inclusive activities.
- Motivate students.
- Maintain a clean and orderly environment.
- Perform general clerical duties.
- Maintain order and discipline in a classroom.
- Operate common office machines.
- Maintain basic files and records.
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships as required.

- Create and follow rigorous lesson plans that correlate with the Common Core.
Physical and Cognitive Requirements
Light physical work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and minimal force frequently.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
