Job summary

New Oakland Family Centers is seeking an Eating Disorders Group Facilitator to lead daily therapeutic groups within the Comprehensive Eating Recovery Vision program. This acute care role collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based care for patients with EDs.

The position reports to the Clinical Director and offers scheduling Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm, with full- or part-time opportunities and hourly compensation ranging from $19 to $22 based on experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required. Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology highly preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience working in Eating Disorder (ED) treatment, providing direct support to individuals with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, or related conditions required.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care by addressing clients' needs with professionalism, empathy, and creativity, while delivering high-quality services in accordance with professional standards and the agency's policies and procedures.
• Lead and facilitate daily therapeutic groups within the Eating Disorders Partial Hospital Program, working with clients diagnosed with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and Binge Eating Disorder, while ensuring adherence to professional standards and facility guidelines.
• Serve as the primary point of support for group facilitation, fostering a safe and effective therapeutic space for consumers.
• Implement individualized treatment plans developed by Associate and Lead Therapists, utilizing a person-centered approach to meet each consumer’s unique needs.
• Assist with discharge planning and care coordination to support seamless transitions for consumers.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with clinic policies and procedures.
• Maintain consistent communication with clinical and administrative staff.
• Demonstrate and maintain stable, professional, and appropriate boundaries with clients at all times.
• Appropriately manage and resolve crisis situations all while maintaining professionalism and ensuring client safety.
• Attend and participate in team meetings and contribute to a collaborative work environment.

Position Summary

The Eating Disorders (ED) Group Facilitator plays a vital role in the Comprehensive Eating Recovery Vision (CERV) program, a specialized Eating Disorders FACE to FACE Partial Hospital Program. This position is responsible for leading therapeutic groups and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality clinical care. Committed to excellence in an acute care setting, the Group Facilitator ensures that consumers receive the treatment and guidance necessary for optimal recovery. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, this role supports individuals with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, and related conditions. Through evidence-based practices, the Group Facilitator fosters a supportive, dynamic environment that promotes healing and long-term well-being.

Key Responsibilities

Working Conditions

• This role requires extended periods of remaining in a stationary position during HIPAA-compliant in-person sessions and requires the ability to perform physical activities such as bending and reaching. • The position involves prolonged active listening and verbal communication.
• Proficiency in using computers, phones, and office equipment for documentation and telehealth purposes is necessary. This includes but is not limited to Office 365 and Electronic Medical Record systems.
