  • 7–10 years of EHSS multi-site leadership experience in regulated environments.
  • Broad EHSS generalist background including environmental compliance and safety management; radiation safety experience preferred.
  • Strong electrical safety background including NFPA 70E program management.
  • Proficiency in EHSS software platforms (VelocityEHS, Gensuite, or similar).
  • Experience with root cause analysis and incident case management.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and leadership presence.

  • Operate within a matrixed structure, partnering with EHSS leaders and site leaders.
  • Represent the region in corporate committees and strategic EHSS projects.
  • Promote safety culture through leadership engagement and frontline empowerment.
  • Mentor site-level personnel and safety committees.

Job description

The Regional Senior Manager, Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS) provides technical and operational leadership across multiple radiation sterilization sites in the Eastern United States. This role works with site leaders to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and company policies while advancing continuous improvement in EHS performance, culture, and risk reduction.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned EHSS generalist with strong multi‑site leadership experience, a background in radiation and electrical safety, and the ability to thrive in a complex, matrixed organizational environment.

Reporting Structure

Major Responsibilities
  • Operational Leadership
    • Provide oversight, coaching, and direction to Operations leadership on EHSS program implementation across multiple radiation sterilization sites.
    • Serve as the EHSS subject matter expert for electrical safety within the Americas Radiation organization.
    • Guide site teams in executing EHSS standard work, including compliance calendar management, risk assessments, contractor oversight, and incident investigations.
    • Collaborate closely with Operations, Engineering, and Quality Assurance to sustain EHSS compliance and support corporate initiatives.
    • Conduct routine site visits to evaluate program effectiveness, verify compliance, and support progress toward EHSS goals.
    • Operate effectively within a matrixed structure, partnering with EHSS leaders, site general managers, and functional support teams.
    • Represent the region in corporate committees, steering teams, and strategic EHSS projects.
    • Promote a strong safety culture through leadership engagement, coaching, and frontline empowerment.
    • Mentor site-level personnel and safety committees to build organizational capability.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
    • Evaluate and address actions to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including OSHA, EPA, DOT, NRC/state radiation control agencies, local fire authorities, and site permits and licenses.
    • Support and manage EHSS compliance programs, including site assessments, inspections, and corrective action management.
    • Prepare environmental permit applications and regulatory reports.
  • Incident Management & Root Cause Analysis
    • Lead or support root cause investigations for significant events, incorporating human and organizational performance principles to drive systemic corrective and preventive actions across managed sites.
    • Oversee incident case management, ensure prompt reporting, documentation, and closure.
  • Systems Management
    • Champion the use and optimization of EHSS software platforms (e.g., VelocityEHS, ISN, Enhesa).
    • Monitor and manage EHSS data, performance metrics, dashboards, and leading indicators to ensure accuracy, identify trends, and proactively mitigate risks.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental, Health & Safety, Engineering, or another science‑based field.
  • 7–10 years of EHSS multi‑site leadership experience in manufacturing, radiation sterilization, medical device, or other regulated industrial environments.
  • Broad EHSS generalist background, including environmental compliance, industrial hygiene, safety management, and security programs; radiation safety experience (gamma or electron beam) preferred.
  • Strong electrical safety background, including NFPA 70E program management.
  • Proficient in EHS management system software (VelocityEHS, Gensuite, or similar).
  • Demonstrated capability in root cause analysis, incident case management, and compliance management systems.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and leadership presence.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in EHS, Engineering, Public Health, or related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, Radiation Safety Officer, Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional.
Travel Requirement

Approximately 30% travel to U.S. sites not co‑located to the employee’s location.

Pay & Benefits

Salary Range: $105,500 to $182,000 per year, depending on experience.
