Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a Dirt Operator to support on-site construction and maintenance projects. The role requires operating electric, diesel, gasoline or steam-powered machinery such as a motor grader, bulldozer, scraper, shovel, derrick, tractor, front-end loader or other power equipment to excavate, move or grade earth and materials across industrial sites.

Applicants should have 3-5 years of equipment experience; education is not a minimum requirement.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of operating equipment experience.
• Education – no minimum education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Pushes and pulls levers to raise, lower, and rotate boom and to raise/lower load line or blade.
• Raises/lower blade or bucket, and rotates boom or load by sight or signals from helper.
• Inspects equipment for defects and notifies supervisor of issues.
• Start engines, move throttles, switches, and levers to operate machines.
• Signal truck driver to position for loading dirt, rocks, and materials.
• Take actions to avoid hazards such as utility lines and other workers.
