Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Earth Science or a related field.
• Valid Michigan Secondary Teaching Certificate with an Earth/Space Science endorsement.
• Strong knowledge of Earth Science curriculum, scientific inquiry, and instructional best practices.
• Ability to develop engaging lessons that promote scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned Earth Science lessons that meet the academic needs of students.
• Teach concepts related to geology, Earth's systems, weather and climate, natural resources, astronomy, and other areas of Earth Science as appropriate.
• Develop assessments and monitor student performance through tests, quizzes, projects, laboratory activities, and other methods.
• Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles, abilities, and individual student needs.
• Foster scientific inquiry, critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication skills.
• Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment.
• Incorporate hands-on investigations, laboratory activities, demonstrations, and technology to enhance student learning.
• Monitor student progress, maintain accurate academic records, and provide timely feedback.
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school staff regarding student progress and concerns.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum and support school improvement initiatives.
