Trinity Health MercyOne Genesis in the Quad Cities region seeks a full-time laboratory technician for early shifts (3 am–11:30 am) with weekend rotation and on-call responsibilities. The role supports specimen collection, labeling accuracy, LIS data entry, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Candidates should have laboratory experience and strong medical terminology knowledge, plus solid computer skills to navigate LIS/EHR systems and ensure timely, accurate results in a hospital

Qualifications

• Laboratory experience and knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipunctures, finger sticks, and heel sticks appropriate to patient age.
• Accepts specimens and requisitions from internal and external customers and manages add-on orders.
• Identifies patients and specimens using two identifiers and labels containers accurately.
• Registers and logs specimens in LIS, evaluates adequacy, and enters documentation.
• Operates laboratory information systems to support data entry and workflow management.
