Job summary

Ampact's Early Learning Corps is seeking tutors to support pre-K students in a classroom setting, helping them build early literacy and math skills while collaborating with a teacher and an on-site coach.

You will receive training, track progress, conduct assessments, and contribute to community growth. The role offers a stipend, health benefits, and education assistance through AmeriCorps.

Qualifications

Position Summary

Ninety percent of a child’s brain development happens before the age of 5, and we’re on a mission to help our youngest learners start strong!

Join Early Learning Corps as an Early Learning Tutor and you’ll spend your days in a pre-kindergarten classroom to help students build skills and confidence. We’ll train you to deliver proven activities and coach you every step of the way!

How does it work? Partnering with a teacher, you’ll help enhance learning. Whether talking, reading, writing, singing, or playing with students, you’ll be helping them to build early literacy and math skills.

Schedule

We are currently hiring for the 2026-27 school year. Positions run August 2026–June 2027.

• 37.5 hours per week (less in weeks with holidays or school release days)
• Daytime hours (correspond with school start and end times)
• Monday-Friday (no weekends)
• Time off on holidays and school release days

Part-time positions are also available at 27.5 and 15 hours per week!

Pay & Benefits

Full-time AmeriCorps members receive a paycheck (stipend) every two weeks. Compensation: $16.63 per hour served and additional perks! Learn more.
