Job summary

Hereford ISD is seeking a Daycare Worker Substitute to assist in childcare programs, care for infants and children, and cover regular staff absences. Responsibilities include planning activities, maintaining a safe, clean classroom, and assisting teachers with records.

The position starts immediately and requires a high school diploma or GED; prior childcare experience is preferred. Bilingual abilities are a plus; contact HR for application details.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and verbally communicate with children, staff and parents.
• Ability to work with groups of children in a positive manner.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Effective organizational communication and patience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, preparing materials, and implementing daily learning activities for children.
• Conduct age-appropriate activities, reading aloud, painting, drawing, crafts and songs.
• Observe and monitor children's play activities.
• Help maintain a neat, orderly classroom and store toys/materials.
• Clean and sanitize furniture, equipment, toys, and linens; prepare snacks safely.
• Assist teachers with administrative records and required reports.
