Job summary

Strides Therapy & Educational Services is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist to support the St. Mary’s County Infants and Toddlers Program.

You will provide evidence-based pediatric OT in home and community settings, develop IFSPs, and collaborate with families and professionals to promote developmental skills for ages 0–3. Requirements include MD OT licensure, experience with infants/toddlers, and the ability to work independently with a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• MD licensure to practice occupational therapy.
• Educator Certificate (if applicable).
• Experience with infants and toddlers, preferably in EI or pediatric settings.
• Strong clinical skills in pediatric OT assessment and intervention.
• Excellent communication to collaborate with families and team members.
• Ability to work independently with a flexible schedule.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of infants and toddlers’ sensory, motor, and developmental needs.
• Develop and implement IFSPs to address goals.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team to work with St. Mary's County Infants and Toddlers Program. As an Occupational Therapist, you will have the opportunity to play a vital role in supporting the development of infants and toddlers through evidence-based occupational therapy interventions.

This role will have the OT provide therapy to children ages 0-3 in a home-based setting as part of the infants and toddlers program in St. Mary's County.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the sensory, motor, and developmental needs of infants and toddlers.
• Develop and implement Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) to address identified goals and objectives.
• Provide direct occupational therapy services to infants and toddlers in a variety of settings, including homes and in the community.
• Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic and family-centered approach to therapy and support.
• Educate and empower families with strategies and techniques to promote developmental skills and enhance participation in daily activities.
• Monitor and document progress regularly, adjusting therapy plans as needed to optimize outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, treatment sessions, and progress notes.
• Stay informed about best practices and evidence-based interventions in pediatric occupational therapy.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Valid license to practice occupational therapy in Maryland. (if applicable)
• Educator Certificate (if applicable)
• Experience working with infants, toddlers, and young children, preferably in an early intervention or pediatric setting.
• Strong clinical skills in pediatric occupational therapy assessment, intervention, and documentation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with families, caregivers, and team members.
• Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact in the lives of infants and toddlers.
• Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
