Job summary

Wateree Community Actions in Camden, SC is seeking an Early Head Start Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing classroom for infants and toddlers, supporting their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development while partnering with families.

The role requires an Infant/Toddler CDA or higher credential, experience with young children, strong communication and teamwork, and the ability to meet licensing and training requirements; compensation is $15.33–$16.11 per hour.

Qualifications

• Infant/Toddler CDA or higher early childhood education credential/degree with appropriate infant and toddler coursework.
• Experience working with infants and toddlers preferred.
• Ability to effectively supervise and care for infants and toddlers in a classroom environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to meet all Early Head Start, licensing, background check, health, and training requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care, supervision, and positive guidance for infants and toddlers.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate classroom activities and learning experiences.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment.
• Observe and document children's development and progress.
• Individualize activities to meet the needs, strengths, and goals of each child, including children with IFSPs.
• Build positive relationships with parents and families and encourage family involvement.
• Complete required classroom records, assessments, screenings, and other program documentation.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development.
• Assist with meals, classroom sanitation, transportation/bus monitoring, and other program needs as assigned.
