Job summary

Skip-a-Long Childhood Centers, part of SAL Community Services, in the Quad Cities area seeks a full-time Teacher to create a developmentally appropriate learning environment. You will implement curriculum with the team, engage families, and support each child’s physical, emotional, cognitive and social growth.

Responsibilities include safety practices, goal-based learning, inclusive classrooms, and home visits. Candidates should value diversity and ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum of sixty semester hours (or 90 quarter hours) with 6/9 hours in child care courses.
• One year (1560 clock hours) of child development experience with 30 sem hours in related courses.
• Completion of credentialing programs approved by the Department.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety practices in creating a secure environment that minimizes accidents and injuries.
• Collaborate with teaching team, families and specialists to set individual learning goals.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom that encourages social interaction and growth.
• Design and implement lesson plans based on each child’s interests and needs.
• Conduct home visits to understand the child’s home environment.
• Engage in continuous professional growth and development.
