About Central Christian School

Position Summary
The Early Education Teacher is responsible for providing Christ-centered instruction and care that supports the developmental needs of young children. Teachers create a structured and nurturing classroom environment that promotes social-emotional development, early academic readiness, and Christian character formation.
This position works closely with the Early Education team to ensure a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for preschool-aged students.

Core Responsibilities
Instruction & Classroom Environment
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons and activities
- Foster a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
- Support social-emotional growth and positive behavior development
- Encourage curiosity, creativity, and foundational learning skills
Student Care & Supervision
- Maintain active supervision of students at all times
- Support daily classroom routines including transitions, activities, and play
- Ensure classroom safety and organization
Communication & Collaboration
- Maintain regular communication with families regarding student care and progress
- Collaborate with Early Education team members and administration
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, chapel, and school events
Licensing & Compliance
- Maintain compliance with Oregon Early Learning Division (OELD) licensing requirements
- Follow classroom ratios and supervision expectations
- Complete required documentation, logs, and certifications
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (required for teaching positions at Central Christian School)
- Ability to support the mission and values of Central Christian School
- Experience working with young children ages 3–5
- Must meet Oregon Early Learning Division (OELD) Teacher qualification requirements for licensed early learning programs
Preferred
- Degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education or related field
- Previous experience in a preschool or licensed childcare setting
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Knowledge of early childhood development and kindergarten readiness skills
Licensing & Compliance
- Maintain compliance with Oregon Early Learning Division (OELD) licensing requirements, including teacher qualifications, ratios, supervision standards, and required documentation.
Work Schedule & Environment
- This is a full-time position within the Early Education program.
- Teachers are expected to remain on campus for their full scheduled workday and maintain compliance with licensing supervision requirements.
- This role involves classroom instruction, student supervision, and active engagement with preschool-aged children throughout the day.
