Job summary

18 Degrees is seeking an Assistant Cook – Early Education and Care to support daily meals and kitchen operations for a child care program. This 30-hour/week role includes food prep, delivery, allergen tracking, cleaning, and keeping necessary records.

You will cross-train to cover operations and supply orders, assist interns from local high school, and transport meals between sites. ServSafe and CACFP trainings help ensure food safety.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED; ServSafe required; Allergen awareness.
• Experience: Basic kitchen experience 3 months to 1 year.
• Multicultural, multilingual candidates encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Cover meals service and support childcare program.
• Transport meals to other sites.
• Cook additional meals for school-age programs during breaks.
• Gain knowledge through ServSafe and CACFP trainings for allergy and child-safety oversight.
• Receive and document food deliveries and handling procedures.
