Job summary

Bright Horizons seeks an Assistant Teacher to join an in-person early education center in the New York City area. You will support toddlers and 2’s/young preschoolers with hands-on activities, ensuring safety and clear communication with families.

The role offers growth opportunities and the chance to pursue a CDA or college degree at no cost. Candidates must be at least 18 with a high school diploma or GED and have 2 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in child care, daycare, or preschool settings is required.
• CDA, Associate, or bachelor’s degree in early education or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with hands-on activities to meet the needs and interests of the children.
• Maintain open communication with parents, sharing their child’s daily milestones.
• Ensure a safe and clean classroom by following essential procedures and guidelines.
• Fulfill mandated reporter requirements as defined by the appropriate State agency, including reporting any suspected cases of child abuse or neglect to the agency and informing the director.
