Job summary

New Life Academy seeks warm, flexible Substitute Teacher’s Aides to support Early Education classrooms on an as-needed basis. Aides step in when regular staff are absent, helping maintain a consistent, nurturing, and engaging environment where children feel safe and supported.

Responsibilities include assisting with ages 3–5, following routines, engaging in activities, supporting basic needs, and maintaining safety and cleanliness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• BS in Elementary Ed, Early Childhood Education or any other field preferred
• Previous experience working with young children
• Reliable and able to respond to last-minute calls or scheduling needs
• Friendly, patient, and adaptable to different teaching styles and environments
• Must meet state childcare licensing requirements, including background checks and health clearances
• SPIRITUAL: able to integrate gospel-centered message into day-to-day responsibilities effectively
• Strong reputation and consistency that students respect

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher and classroom team in caring for and supervising children ages 3–5.
• Follow the established classroom routines and daily schedule.
• Engage children in play, learning activities, and transitions.
• Support with basic needs such as toileting, meals, and rest time.
• Maintain classroom safety, cleanliness, and order throughout the day.
• Communicate with staff and children in a positive and respectful manner.
• Be flexible and ready to work in different classrooms as needed.
