Job summary

UC Santa Barbara is seeking a Child Development Center Teacher 2 to collaborate with the Lead Teacher in planning, implementing, and evaluating developmentally appropriate curriculum for children at ECCES. The role includes setting up the environment, ensuring safety, and communicating with families across West Campus and Student Resource Building.

The position requires meeting state licensing standards, participating in professional development, and maintaining valid Pediatric CPR and First Aid

Qualifications

• Minimum completion of 6 ECE units, working toward 12 core ECE units for eligibility for a Child Development Permit.
• High-school diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Develop weekly plans and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum to nurture all domains of children’s development.
• Adopt a primary caregiver model in infant classrooms for feeding, diapering, comforting, and napping.
• Provide responsive care, adapting routines and plans to meet individual child and group needs.
• Coordinate curriculum and evaluate children’s needs with the Lead Teacher.
• Demonstrate cultural competency and respect for families’ backgrounds in program activities.
• Assist with parent intake conferences and maintain open communication with families.
