Job summary

Lake Orion Community Schools seeks a School Social Worker for the Lake Orion Early Childhood Center to support students with general and special education needs, focusing on social-emotional development and behavior supports.

Responsibilities include conducting evaluations, delivering services within school and community settings, and providing professional development on behavior strategies to staff, while contributing to RtI/ MTSS efforts and student study processes.

Qualifications

• Must have School Social Worker certification or meet requirements for MDE approval
• Strong understanding of special education eligibility requirements and evaluation procedures
• Strong behavioral background with emphasis on behavior plans and functional behavior assessments
• Early childhood experience and developmental knowledge preferred
• Strong data analysis experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Support general and special education early childhood developmental needs by supporting students on and off caseload
• Provides special education evaluations and service delivery within the building and community early childhood settings
• Provide professional development on behavior and regulation strategies to teachers and administrators
• Supports the RtI and MTSS framework development
• Active involvement in the child study process addressing social-emotional and regulation needs for all students
• Knowledge of community mental health agencies and referrals to outside agencies
